MAID ON THE FLOOR BASIC LEVEL
The training course for Chambermaid organized by ANPA aims to train a fundamental and very important professional profile within the hospitality industry. The Chambermaid is the main responsible of the customer satisfaction regarding to the quality of the service offered in the hotel rooms. The peculiarity of this profession, practiced by young and more senior women, italian and foreigners, allows a lot of employment opportunities in the hottelerie labor market, also for not so young persons. A thorough training on this job is, therefore, a great advantage and a guarantee of recruitment. The Chambermaids are in charge of the reorganization, the cleaning and the maintenance of the hotel rooms with all the furnishings and accessories in it. It also has the responsibility of safeguarding the personal effects of clients and meeting the singular customers requests, customizing the service of the rooms on the guests specific needs. The job of Chambermaid is the first step in a role that can enable a fast growing career to reach senior levels (cloakroom, III° Housekeeper, II° Housekeeper, the First Housekeeper) mixing technical and behavioral skills, such as self-care, the language confidence, discretion and confidentiality and professional ethics. The course will be structured on a total of 48 hours spread over a period of one month three times a week for three hours in class, from 17:30 to 20:30.
Didactic Program

DIDACTICAL SCHEDULE:
• The role and the functions of the Chambermaid: the professional profile, the relationship with the housekeeper and the other hotel departments, the relationship with workmates and clients
• Behavioural techniques and professional ethics: personality and personal care, education and experience, uniform, training, attitude and customer service, liability to customers and to the company, operational tasks, public relations, management of customers special requests
• Techniques of work organization: the knowledge of the hotel organization and of the individual departments, communication between the reception and the housekeeping department, the routine with the wardrobe and the laundry room, the room control, lost items, the forms of the department
• Techniques, methods and timing for cleaning and maintenance of the rooms: the communication log, the Memorandum, the employment provision, the daily job, the VIP list, the watch list, the maintenance request, the taking of linen The daily report of employment, the receipt for items lost, pick up cargo, handling, and inventory controls, auditing policies, organization of the working day, the office of the maid, the rooms report, the reorganization of the rooms, methods to enter in the room, the time required for the reorganization, the cleaning of the room and the bathroom, clean the fixtures and furniture, the evening service, the free rooms, living rooms and apartments, the evening cleaning equipment, cleaning products and equipment, the passe -partout, cleaning of common areas, maintenance and trade sectors of fabrics, wallpaper, carpet, wood, marble, granite, tiles, ceramics, rubber and linoleum
• Room division and hotel architecture: the main architectural models, annual and seasonal hotels, the hotels with vertical, horizontal and scattered development, the distribution of the outdoor spaces, common areas, the lobby and the area of the front office, the bar and the restaurant, halls, rooms, service areas, warehouses and kitchens, the laundry, the office, the technical spaces, gardens and sports facilities
• Hotel Communication Techniques: the rules of behavior, growth and self-realization, the hierarchy of roles, behavioral criteria, the technical strengthening, team meetings and teamworking
• Safety at work concepts and techniques of accident prevention: the standards of accident prevention and hygiene, the points of greatest risk (floors, hand, frames, stairs and landings, and drop ceiling, plant, equipment, control and maneuver, preventive maintenance, hygiene at work, first aid, fire safety, prevention measures, the available fire fighting, the use of the fire protection, smoke detectors, alarm buttons, fire hoses and fire extinguishers)
